Insatty, I appreciate your thoughtful response. I just disagree with J/R on their interpretation of this. For a resource to be helpful to me, it has to be somewhat related to how the game is played in "real life", not as some theoretical calesthenics in rule parsing. I really go with Evans on this one.

One of the original sitch's that was posed during this discussion was F3 being run into by the BR after securely gloving the ball and tagging the base for the out. The release was clearly "involuntary". I posed a situation in "unrelaxed" action ( to use the J/R phraseology), however I contend that in this situation, once the bag is tagged for the out the action immediately becomes "unrelaxed".

We may be in violent agreement or not, I just can't see calling that runner safe in this situation.

We actually encountered this topic in Philadelphia at the convention.

You remember well, WWTB. This was discussed this year at the NCAA convention in Chicago. However, I'm astounded at a new and amazing capability that you have been keeping a secret.

You can time travel. The Chicago convention is in the past and this topic was discussed. The PHILADELPHIA convention is this coming weekend. I read in another one of your posts that you were planning on attending the Phildelphia convention. Now, in this thread, you said that you had already attended.

Tell us how you accomplished this amazing feat.
