the batter is getting ready to bat, but the pitcher thows the ball inside almost hitting the batter, he docks to avoid getting hit but the ball istill hits the bat, is it a foulball or fareball if it stays in field?
I am a first year ampire.

Good to hear from a new "ampire", Ruben! Stay awhile, read the posts, and think about what you read. When you're just starting out, this is one of the best places to go for umpiring info! This is my fourth year umpiring, and I've been able to apply tons of advice that I've read here and other umpire message boards

Indeed, Gee's got it right. If a pitch "accidentally" hits the bat, the play continues just as if the batter had swung.
