Maybe herein lies the problem: anonymity. It's like having road rage and flipping someone off. The person feels "safe" in their home behind their computer screen as a driver does in his car. It's amazing how the nicest people in the world can have the worst road rage. It's probably the same on discussion forums. I personally have a problem of holding grudges, and I won't forget the one who loves to use the metaphors.
