best advice

Im not the best person to be giving advice on Chest protectors, since I am on my 4th one in not that many years......

I have gone from an All-American inside protector to a +POS BB2000 for better protection to a Honigs K1 for something lighter.......now to a WV Platinum for more protection.......

I've spent way too much money getting to the WV when I could have been there in the first place.......

Buy the best gear.......avoid double to triple spending to get the best......it will be cheaper in the long run...

i like how it started at a $1 bid but the first (and only bidder) put down $100 for it. nice ebay-ing/bidding skills.

Actually, he bid it up to the reserve price. Makes sense to me.

i didnt notice that this had a reserve on it, i just glanced quickly. it does make sense now that you mention it has a reserve, my mistake.

Buy a Platinum West Vest. If you take care of it, it will take care of you for a really long time. A friend of mine bought a Carlucci a few years ago. He was all excited because he ordered it a month before the 14 week hs season. He received it a few days after the season was over.

Does anyone know what the female minor leaguers wear? I want a shorter protector but they're either too big around or they don't lay flat in front if you get my meaning. I've tried quite a few and either end up returning them or selling them. I know I tried on a WV probably 5 years ago and it bothered me around the neck. I don't remember which one it was. There's got to be something out there.

We have a female umpire that works out of the Tuscon area. I know she wears the shortest Platinum West Vest. She said that she has to wear one of the Brandi Chastain things in order to keep it close to her body. She is one of the most consistent plate umps I've ever seen.

So, maybe it really IS about the bra if she does that good. To imitate Tee....hehehehe.

All kidding aside, thanks, Pete.

My wife would be happy to agree...the bra is pretty important! I'm pretty sure that Denise wears the Chastain and underarmour. The warm weather underarmour is pretty standard around here.

I wear those items as well except change the warm weather to cold weather gear for those Minnesota springs that think they're still suppose to be winter!
