let's see in High school games I work behind the plate.
JV games, plate
Freshmen, plate
jr high, plate
little kid pitch, plate
coach pitch, plate
tee ball, plate

I guess I would have to say the plate is the answer. Get the gear on and expect to move... ALOT!

Your best bet would be to call the game from as far away as possible through a chain link fence. You can have a hot dog and drink, sit down and get every call correct !!!!!

On a side note, I wish we could get double pay ( or at least one and a half times ) for a one man game. I sure feel we earn it, but our association says almost all schools won't even negotiate about that.

One man- one fee.
Oh well.

I think it is outrageous that you can't get at least a fee and 1/2 for doing a game solo. They should get two umps if they don't want to pay more for one arbiter.

But in the eyes of school administrators, we are wrong ( for asking for more ).
