Sometimes it seems my pants get stuck somewhat with the top of my shin guards, therefore they won't go down. Any one else have this problem and what'd you do?

The answer to the problem might be found in your response to a question in another thread.

Yes the combo pants work pretty well. I've only bought from Honig's and have no complaints what-so-ever. As for the shirts, the same, I buy from Honig's and I believe they are universal. I wear them both and haven't had a problem with them. By the way, my first game is tomorrow!!!

You wear combo pants. I would bet that wearing true plate pants would solve the problem.

It's a common problem, and has nothing to do with whether you're wearing combo or non-combo pants. (Hint to others - he said the TOP of his shinguards). You just have to get in the habit of giving them a little tug as you come out of your crouch.

Figured it was, but I never have seen anyone else have any problem, just see the pants slide right back down. But, thanks Dave.

Ozzy, you nailed it! I was doing the plate again today and again my guards were not right. So after the game I looked at my pants and it said B1. I didn't really think anything about it. Well my partner who I worked with had just got some so when I dropped him off we compared and they didn't match. So when I got home I looked it up in the catalog and they sent the wrong pants!!!!!! I'm kinda pi$$ed. I looked at my invoice and it shows they took my order wrong. I sure hope they take them back and let me exchange them -- if not I won't be a very happy camper.

Well somewhat, they are taking one pair back however they aren't taking the pair that I wore yesterday (the only time I wore them) that made me realize this whole mess. Somewhat pi$$ed that I'm having to pay for their error.

Pants for the cheap skate (like me): The brad that Wal-mart stocks! $15, slide easily over shin guards, and you'll get the same number of games out of them as you will the pants you order from umpiring specialty stores. They are already hemmed, too!

I have never seen pants at Wal-mart that were
truly heather-gray. They're all too light in color.
My wife wanted to buy me a pair, but I turned them
down,as I would prefer to match my partner as closely
as possible.

Amen! As well, at 6'5 and 238lbs, Walmart does not carry pants that fit me in any style. I tell my little kids umpires to get them at walmart tho.
