Official Rules of Baseball. The pitcher pitches to one batter and is replaced by the SS. P assumes SS position. After the next batter, the original picher comes back to pitch and the original SS goes back to SS. He is allowed 8 warm up pitches. Is there a limit to the number of times the pitcher and shortstop could be flip flopped in one inning? Would the picher always get 8 warm up pitches everytime?
