My neighbors son just played there in a tourny last week. While I didn't get the prespective from an umpire, the experience as a whole sounded amazing. All of the games are available via web cast so anyone can log in and watch games as their played which is pretty cool. I have to think that being there as an umpire would have benefits that would be worth the money spent to get there. You never know who is there watching these games. Work a good game in front of the right person and who knows what that could lead to. I would find it hard to pass up an opportunity like that.

If u have the opportunity and time to do it , and you don"t you will be sorry. Very nice lot of good ball and fellow umpires shooting off war stories.

Their website (Welcome to the Cooperstown Dreams Park) looks pretty appealing and inviting. Long way from Texas and will cost me one week of vacation from the job, but out of pocket costs will be quite minimal.

Just curious if any of you guys have been there, and if so, what are your thoughts?

Thanks.
PatF, you might want to check out this message board on the ABUA website. It's devoted to comments from umpires and coaches who have been/are going to CDP. Look for the category titled CooperstownDreamsPark

Ummm, cookie? PatF posted this back in 2005.

When I first started reading this, I saw a post by Dave Hensley and thought, "Wow, I haven't heard from Dave in years." Well, that's still the case.

Wow, didn't read the posting date of the OP! I just assumed it was a recent inquiry. Thanks for the heads up...
