Cooperstown Dreams Park

My neighbors son just played there in a tourny last week. While I didn't get the prespective from an umpire, the experience as a whole sounded amazing. All of the games are available via web cast so anyone can log in and watch games as their played which is pretty cool. I have to think that being there as an umpire would have benefits that would be worth the money spent to get there. You never know who is there watching these games. Work a good game in front of the right person and who knows what that could lead to. I would find it hard to pass up an opportunity like that.

If u have the opportunity and time to do it , and you don"t you will be sorry. Very nice lot of good ball and fellow umpires shooting off war stories.

Went 6 times looking forward to #7.

A local 12U team has invited me to attend one of the Cooperstown Dreams Park tournaments in late July with their team. CDP is located very near the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown... hence the name. Apparently, the registration process requires each team to bring one umpire with them.

Their website (Welcome to the Cooperstown Dreams Park) looks pretty appealing and inviting. Long way from Texas and will cost me one week of vacation from the job, but out of pocket costs will be quite minimal.

Just curious if any of you guys have been there, and if so, what are your thoughts?
