Maybe it's in how you tell it. Or some people might not appreciate it unless they hear it sung to the music.
Also, maybe it loses a little if mobile home isn't hyphenated. Try it now: First pitch strike Second pitch ball Same location Different call Mobile-home plate Mobile-home plate See what I mean? Yes, that makes all the difference.
