Just wondering?
Are there any women umpires working any of these games?

Are there many women who work LL baseball in general?

No and no. There is a greater frequency of women umpires in softball, but not very many in baseball.

There was a lady a few years ago. I don't remember exactly when it was. I do remember that she was doing the plate in the final game that was betwenn the US and the Far East. The reason I remember it was because that was a play at home where the runner slid head first to avoid the tag and she scored the run. Most of the regulars that I work with as well as myself thought that should have been an out.

I remember that play. It caused a lot of debate. It was a feet-first slide to the side and the runner reached out with his hand to touch the base. I defended the umpire's call because I did not believe it was a head-first slide at the time. I still don't. It was a head-first touch of the base, but the slide itself was feet-first which is perfectly legal.

To be exact,

"There was a lady a few years ago. I don't remember exactly when it was."

I think it was in 2001.
