I recently aquired a fabulous set of professional level Leg/Shin guards on e-bay.

They are the triple knee variety and I was wondering how many of you use the triple knee leg guards or find them useful for umpiring?

Is it overkill or have you gotten hit above the knee where they would protect and is it worth the extra weight and bulk for the protection that you get?

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I love mine

I have only ever used Triple knees and love them, I find no real mobility issues and the weight is negligable at best. I have take a number of shots off the middle and top pads and never feel a thing, I'd never go without them.
