Some thing mentioned by a buddy of mine the other day.

He said he was watching a summer ball game where a RHP with R2 set up in the stretch only reversed. So he was now set like a LHP. Then he steps directly with what is now his pivot foot towards second base and gets a successful pick-off. No one said a word.

Legal?
Rule reference?

BALK. The pitcher's pivot foot is the foot in contact with the rubber when a pitch is delivered (2.00 Pivot Foot). Then look at the definition of the set position, in 8.01.

Thanks

Thanks.

But he got by with it just tonight. He said he was going to have a pitcher try it. Umpire was looking confused but the coaches didn't say anything so I tihnk he just let it slide.
