Here's one that got some conversation in a game I did bases on...

Batter hits ball to infielder who throws ball to first-baseman. First-baseman juggles ball and the ball rolls down his leg, where his wrist stops the ball just above the knee just before the running crosses the base. As the runner crosses the base, the first-baseman scoops the ball with his hand and holds it up to show he has "control" of the ball.

I called the runner safe because the first-baseman did not have full control of the ball.

How would you have called it?

As you described it and I visualized it, safe.

It would definitely be the expected call as well. Hard to ring up a runner when F3 is going through those antics.

I have a safe call due to the first baseman not having control of the ball as the runner hits the base
