does anyone else crease their hats like most MLB umpires do? when i got my new hats earlier this summer i creased them because i started noticing it more and more on the MLB guys. i dont do it for the functionality (for travel), i just think it looks cool.

You can't do that.

First of all it gets all over your hair and sticks like crazy. If you don't wipe your hands clean then the next thing you end up with is spots all over your pants from resting you hands on you knees.

What would happen if you end up touching the ball. Then you will have to throw the pitcher out for doctoring the ball. Not a good idea to use that stuff on your hat.

OH I'm sorry. Did you say Crease your hat?

Never mind.

My hats are creased the same way but it is for packing purposes. I do not use those "hat forms". I save a lot of space by folding rather than using the forms.

Actually, if you turn the hats inside-out, they lay/lie flat for packing. According to the Detroit Tigers clubhouse manager, that's the "official" way to do it. But what would he know about umpires' hats.
