Checked Swing
What is the proper way for the F2 to ask PU to check with BU to see if the batter swung on a check swing? My catcher has recently been told that he is doing it wrong and I want to teach the proper way.

All F2 has to say in a polite manner to the PU is: "Blue, could you check with the BU?" The F2 should never (with apologies to the late J. Dallas Shirley) point to the BU. MTD, Sr.

I'm not really sure how one could do this "wrong"--you should have asked the PU who raised the issue. |
