What is the proper way for the F2 to ask PU to check with BU to see if the batter swung on a check swing? My catcher has recently been told that he is doing it wrong and I want to teach the proper way.

All F2 has to say in a polite manner to the PU is: "Blue, could you check with the BU?" The F2 should never (with apologies to the late J. Dallas Shirley) point to the BU.

Pointing at BU is easily recognized as a request to PU.

I'm not really sure how one could do this "wrong"--you should have asked the PU who raised the issue.
