Last night in a HS school var. tournement I had a encounter with a coach that leaves you scratching your head or pulling your hair out.I had team A batter check swing and I called a strike ruling she went to far.The coach of team A comes out and asks me if I can get help from my partner and I say no I can't.Well he is still staring from just outside the third base dugout and he says now I can't ask for help and before i answer my partner who is in the third slot walks over and explains real quick. The coach goes back shaking his head.Well you guessed it the next inning team A up to bat and I call a ball on a checked swing and team B calls for help and my partner says yes she went. Here comes coach A again wanting to know why the other coach got help.I tell him one more time no umpire will ever take away a strike and he says thats not fair and I say great lets play ball. What are you going to do.

Turn the tables on him. Check with your partner and when s/he signals "strike", you say there you go coach! I've got a strike, my partner called a strike! That's two strikes! "Count's 0-2, Play Ball!"
