We operate an on-line information business and a customer from Minnesota complained of extreme slowness and the inability to use some functionality. When we checked into it, it was the internet causing the issue.
It appears that between everyone coming back online in recovering from the power outages and issues caused by the latest worm, some providers were impacted with unusually high volumes of traffic. My customer's issue was traced to Williams in the MidWest.
