Here at the senior assisted living center where I now reside, we had a "sports night" last night. Some college students came over to volunteer helping us "play" some sports. There were beanbags, plastic golf balls with a putting green, lightweight footballs, etc. One of the staff asked me if I would "referee" the balloon volleyball games while wearing my referee jersey and using my whistle. I keep these here for Halloween. I said sure.

It was a lot of fun and when the event was over, a staff member came over and presented me with a "medal" for reffing. It's a foil wrapped silver dollar filled with chocolate. It's attached to a large circular string so I can wear it around my neck. I'm keeping it in the fridge when I'm not wearing it so the chocolate doesn't melt. I'm going to give it to one of my grandsons when he comes over here for his birthday later today.

I told them I would rather have had a bagel.
