Hi all,
We are working toward to implement a new evaluation system for our
VB officials. We are seeking questions that will result in actionable feedback for our officials.
1. It will send an e-mail reminder to both head coaches and both officials following each match.
2. Coaches will have opportunity to both rate 1-10 scale and leave (optional) text comments.
3. Officials will have the same type of format, but will only evaluate their partner.
The questions can be specifically related to the the position of the official (R1 may have more ball handling questions, R2 more about net and center line, for example). Officials may have an additional question or two about their interaction and communication with each other during the match.
What are some good questions that could help us get *actionable* information for officials about how to improve or adjust?
The obvious ones are:
R1 Ball handling judgement (scale from too loose to too tight).
R1 and R2 Consistency of calls (inconsistent to perfectly consistent).
R1 and R2 Mechanices / Signals / Whistle (bad to great).
R1 and R2 Effort / Temperament / Attitude (bad to great).
Any others that could be as valuable to officials as ball handling and consistency? What useful questions are asked on your current evaluations?
Thanks for any input you can offer,
Tim
