If you can't do the job don't go. If you can then go and work. Coaches aren't entitled to nor do they want an injury report. That's what I would tell somebody who thought it was a good idea.
This was my thought process as well. It was a girls district game he had time to find a replacement but he didn't want to give it up 3 man so we put him in the C as much as possible turned out to not be a big issue.
