Is there no game commissioner or something? Sideline officials spend a lot of time learning not to have rabbit ears because they're trying to watch the game on the field....between the sidelines from dead ball line to dead ball line...
To me, if they want to enforce bench ethics then get another bench official but don't burden the sideline guys with it.

Yes, but it's impossible to consistently enforce the rule. The only reason I caught that coach is that I was heading back to the sidelines from a midfield conference. The same complaint arises with the abusive language thing. Impossible to consistenly enforce the rule.
