In today's world, there is a demand for bodies, but I would never send anyone of whom I was not confident would represent the association and fellow umpires well. Unfortunately, that level of integrity isn't always present in some assignments.
I agree with you, that is why I put this caveat into my post:

...but you need to let them know of your wishes and what you can do to fulfill them.
