Coach,that's probably stretching the rule to call "stomping" an artificial noisemaker,IMO. Still,it might be said that,in that official's judgement,it WAS an artificial noisemaker being employed. The problem is that the official used the wrong procedure anyway.He should have got the home management to make an announcement that the stomping has to cease.It's not the correct procedure for the official(nor is it very smart)to be approaching the fans directly to get them to stop.
