Is this an appeal play as in a "batting out of order" question by the defense?
Is this an umpire monitored thing that falls under "preventive" umpiring?

The book says it's an "out" but doesn't say who brought it up. I can't find it in the appeals section either.

I'm think'n it's an appeal by defense but.....????

I have looked and can't find a rule reference addressing this. Can anyone enlighten me please?

Thanks,

8.9.C.3 simply states that if the same player is used as a CR a second time in the same inning, s/he is rule out. Of course, the ruling also states they are removed from the base, but really, what the hell else are you going to do with a runner just ruled out?

This is not an appeal and the umpires should keep track of CRs. Remember, this is for championship play, most local leagues are much more relaxed with these type of rules.
