Northport (N.Y.) survived a six-overtime affair against Huntington (N.Y.) on Saturday, coming away with a 96-89 victory.
It elicited memories of Syracuse's six-overtime victory against UConn in the 2009 Big East finals.
Coincidentally, according to Newsday, Northport head coach Andrew D'Eloia was at Madison Square Garden that day.
Lukas Jarrett led the way with 41 points. The win helped Northport advance in the Suffolk Class AA playoffs, where it will take on top seed Brentwood on Wednesday.
The game was the longest playoff basketball game in Long Island history, Newsday reported.
