Definitely not something I would try, but I actually was working a sub-varsity game with one of our long time officials at the high school he attended decades earlier- the AD & coaches were well known to him. At the end of the captains meeting he asked the home team captain if his coach brought the check for foul insurance - kid had a funny look and my partner told him he'd better go ask the coach. The kid fell for it hook, line & sinker...went & asked the coach. Everyone got a good laugh out of it, including the kid.
