And if I may piggy back on this if the losing team does close the gap at all it is usually against the winning teams 2nd or even 3rd string players.

I don't like the rule if it gets under the points threshold for the running clock that it goes back to normal timing. In PA, it's 35 points in the second half and stays a running clock until the game is over.
