Blow your whistle so your partner will not quickly put the ball in play. Then go to him/her and relay the information that the ball was tipped in your primary by the defense. As to your question as to whether or not you should verbally react to the tip by the defense, do not do it! That is just one more situation where doing too much talking on the floor can get you into trouble.
