Sure. To start, if there were no male substitutes, the game is over.

If the manager was in the line-up, there better be two males subs or the game is over.

So, there are no automatic outs to be had.

Even if the teams went shorthanded legally, two members of the same gender never bat consecutively since there would be an out recorded between the two male/female batters.

AFA the ejections, no problem there though I would probably be laughing at the poor little bab...er, batter as I asked for a substitute.
