This is "Exhibit A" for the argument that it is ALWAYS easier to officiate a play coming towards you rather than away from you. With very few exceptions, a block/charge play is MUCH easier for the Lead to officiate when a secondary defender is involved.
IMHO, the C saw the result of the play rather than the defenders' statuses when the offensive player left the floor.
