If you pick up a rock that's lying in the infield, you have changed the field. If you smooth out the dirt where somebody slid, you have also changed the field. Don't brush off the rubber? That's about the dumbest thing I ever heard. If some evaluator gave me a hard time about that, I would quit on the spot.
