18 & Under, 3 person crew, early in game. Runners on the corners, no outs. Runner starts to second legally and slows down when catcher fails to throw and is really wanting to draw a throw to second to get caught in a "pickle" to give the runner at third a chance to go home and score. Question: does the umpire at third bail from the line position once the ball has been thrown to second and come over to help on the run down that is created between first and second or let the first base umpire maintian the run down/pickle by him/her self? That would leave the plate to try and run a possible problem between third and home by his/her self. Would'nt a lead runner possibly scoring take the more important coverage?
