that last one jarred my memory of one a peer of mine had.

runners on base, less than 2 outs.

CF runs to catch a fly ball in the gap. he is on a dead sprint and makes the catch just before crashing in to the wall (wood). he hit with a KABOOM and knocked himself out cold, like Tanaka on Major League II. he actually held onto the ball! however, he is totally unconscious! the LF runs and see that he's out cold and also notices that there is a merry-go-round on the bases. LF digs the ball out of his glove and throws it in.

offensive coach wants a dropped ball because there was no vountary release on the CF part. i don't recall how they called it, but i would say that the rule does not state that voluntary release has to be by the fielding player and that the ball was taken from the glove "voluntarily" and not "dropped" by any definition.
