This is the same as if the fans pour onto the field. If the runner is unable to reach the plate due to outside forces, he will be considered to have touched the plate. I believe is covered in the MLBUM.
On the other side of this, Gomez is an a-hole for jawing. Just run your bases and let the score speak for itself. What a jackarse!
