Now I am going to have a rules question. If you look closely the umpire actually starts signaling for a homerun. Is that the correct ruling?
I'm thinking that it is not a homerun. However, if runners were on base (which none were) they would be awarded the correct number of bases because of the fielder carrying the ball into dead ball territory.
Am I correct in my thinking?
