I'm surprised by Welke's action. He turned as he made the fair call, but then backpedaled away from the possible spectator interference. He should have made the move to get a good view of the possibility.

I thought it was pretty obvious, not so much the fan actually contacting the ball, but the way it bounced back. If it hadn't been touched, the ball would have caromed off the wall and gone more toward the leftfield corner. But the ball deflected more toward the infield.

Yeah, that was certainly Welke's call to make, and perhaps that's why Bellino didn't initially say anything. But when Welke asked for help, I'm guessing Bellino told him what he saw with the carom.
