Cool

Worked my first PONY tournament over the weekend. Naturally, my first game was by myself. One team was using a DH, the other an EP. Neither (ASA based coaches) agreed on how the other worked, so that required explanation. Good thing I studied.
A pitch was so high and inside that the ball and the catcher's mitt ended up right in front of my face. Apparently, the batter swung after the pitch passed, which I couldn’t see. The defense coach would not accept that it had to stay a “ball” because my vision was blocked.
With a runner on 1st another pitch bounced off the catcher and as I ran to cover 2nd, accidentally “kicked” the ball past 3rd base (sounds like an earlier thread). The runner from 1st ended up on 3rd because F2 and F5 could not get to the ball in time. The offense coach kept insisting it was interference.
The defense coach wanted to talk to the pitcher and when I said “first of three”, he insisted he got one per inning. That rule changed this year, now it’s three.

Then, in the bottom of the first ...
