NCAA Proposals 13-14

Had the privilege of listening to John Adams this week and he outlined some of the rules proposals that were voted on by the committee and have one more look from the NCAA this week: Highlights include:

1. Requiring defenders to have obtained legal guarding position before a shooter makes his initial movement with the ball on a shot attempt to draw a charge.
2. No physical 10 second count in the backcourt but rather use the shot clock.
3. Expanded replay authority including the ability to wipe away a called foul if you elect to go to the monitor for a flagrant foul and see that there was nothing there and in the final 2 minutes of a game the ability to view all shot clock violations as well as determine if an OOB call was correctly called.
4. Changing jurisdiction before game from 30 to 20 minute mark
5. Defensive fouls in the frontcourt with the shot clock under 25 seconds result in a reset to 25 seconds instead of the full 35
6. Allowing leg and arm sleeves without a medical reason

There were a couple others, but those were the ones that stick out to me.
