I'm not sure how valuable a resource Twitter would be for basketball officiating (unless you want to follow me of course [at]BradyStiff)

You've found a pretty darn good place for a digital education. We answer questions and discuss officiating philosophies, etc. We also look at video evidence quite a bit, as we have several people who grab video and edit it down to show controversial or questionable plays. I know this place has helped me quite a bit.

You're right, you can read all you want, but nothing is better than hands on experience. But it can't hurt to know everything you can before you step on the floor. Welcome to the forum, and post often!
