Thumbs up

I have used Honig's K-1 for four years now, and love it. Yes, it's expensive ($140+), but, as stated before and shell out some bucks for a good vest. I'm curious about the WestVest series, but, won't be needing a new protector for many years to come.

I use the light-weight BodyGuard UMP protector ($80+) for high school softball. It provides good protection, but, I would use it behind the plate in upper-level baseball. As Gobama84 noted, BodyGuard makes a hardshell Baseball UMP protector ($160+).

So your call, but, plan to spend bucks to have yourself well protected. Honig's sells all three brands: their own, WestVest and BodyGuard. You've got the best idea; drive up to Bryan, try 'em all on, and pick the one you like the best. Call before you go, hopefully they have all of them in stock.
