Clock started in error on throw in
Team A has the ball for a sideline throw-in with 0.1 (one tenth) of a second on the clock. Thrower A1 throws the ball toward the basket in hopes of a tip-in. The ball strikes the lower corner of the backboard and rebounds up the lane. Right after the ball hits the backboard, the horn sounds. There was no legal touching so the clock should not have started.
How would you proceed in this situation by rule? I didn't have any luck searching the casebook. Thanks.
