Yes, the rule change for this year is that a batter does not have to attempt to avoid getting hit by a pitch that is in the box. NFHS probably should have tweaked 7-3-2 when they changed 8-1-2b. It would have been better is 7-3-2 said something like, "A batter shall not purposely move towards a pitched ball to let it touch her."
