This was too funny. Yesterdays 11-12's(Bronco-PONY). League prez is manager of visitors. they be getting knocked around pretty good, 8-0 in the 4th. R1 from home team is stealing 2cd. Ball is there way ahead of him bout 5 feet in front of second, F4 lays tag on runner and loses ball, runner safe. Prez/mgr calls time and asks BU about a "must slide" rule. Bu comes to me w/skippy in tow. I sez no. Skippy sez, "oh yes there is!". I quote our "no mandatory slide rule" verbatim. Now he wants to protest, sure...I announce to offficial book and we get 7 in 1 1/2 hors, 9-0.
First place manager is at game, he asks me if I think prez/mgr is gonna pay the 25$ protest fee.I sez, "heck, he outa just split it between me and Bu for not knowing the rule", good laugh......
