Jump Violation
I had a first in 14 years of officiating this weekend. Boys HS Varsity...As I stepped into the circle and was just beginning the motion to make the opening toss, a player left his position and walked...no, basically strolled...through the middle of the circle, I guess to get better position. I stopped, hit my whistle, called a violation, and the other team got the ball to start the game. It was just bizarre.
Did I handle this right?
