NCAA-M Slipping on inbounds...

Just saw this on Siena/St Bonnie game. 2nd half made basket by Siena. St Bonnie player takes ball to inbounds, slips over the line (with the ball) and falls inbounds. Whistle but no violation. There was no TV replay, only a brief mention by announcers that a player fell over the endline, but no violation. Sounded like the official(s) spoke briefly to Siena coach and allowed St Bonnie to re-inbound the ball (my term).

That's all I know- I'm sure there was further discussion, but the announcers didn't mention it and the cameras were not showing what the T was doing to remedy the situation.

What is the ratioinale for not calling a violation here? I don't know if he slipped on water, tripped over his own shoe or was bonked by a Christmas Elf.... isn't a violation a violation?
