Details man, give us the details!?!?!? Glad to hear that you survived. Now for the details, i.e. how long did it take, how many innings, how were the games, were the player learning and enjoying, and most importently - did you still manage to have some fun?

Everything started off without a hitch. Coaches and Fans were as respectful as you could ever imagine. The player's were ready, and had lot's of fun. I was informative on rules and interpretations (even though I had a couple of brain lapses, I'll get to those later) as to what they can and can't do, i.e...Balks and illegal pitches, fielders standing on bags interfering with runners, the usual throwing of the bat...etc.
I did have a couple of those...duh moments tho!
I really dont't want to get into them tho, I'm too embarrassed...lol
I get confused sometime between FED (which I am accustomed too) and Lil' League Rules (which this is my first year).
Well that's my excuse and I'm sticking too it!
All the games except one started on time. The reason for the delay was I had to go get one of those juicy cheeseburgers from the concession stand. It was game 3 and got about 15 mins. behind schedule. The games had a 90 min. drop dead time limit w/the last inning having to finish with time to play last inning b4 90 mins. You know how that works.
Well anyway...
The last game was started on time (6:00) and was the best game of the day!
Bottom of the fifth, home team down 9-7. Couple of hits, a couple of walks here and there, past balls, home team ties it up. 9-9 w/two outs and runner on third. 2-2 count on the batter, pitch gets past catcher and runner is on the way in from third. Pitcher comes home and covers, here's the throw to the plate frome the catcher, runner slides...............Results on a later post!!!!!
LOL..........Bang Bang.........It was quiet it seemed for an hour....lol........everyone waiting on the last call of the last game of Opening Day! I delayed like I am doing here..........OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Game ends in tie. Not one complaint about the call and it was the Closest Play of the day without a doubt.
Especially with the game riding on it.
But the best outcome of the day was how Well my son's played! I was the proudest father out there. My oldest son (12) recorded both of their victories as the starting pitcher in their double header, and helping his cause going
6-6, with 3 walks and 5 RBI's. WOW. Not bad for only his second year playing.
And my youngest son (10) was starting catcher, (he did let me get hit a few times which I of course kept reminding him of his #1 job, Protect the Ump)
made me smile from ear to ear seeing him back there and scoring 4 times on 3 walks, several stolen bases, and a couple of hits, one of them being the best ever with a shot up the middle.
It was Truly a Great Day!
