And just out of curiosity, why is this the case? If the official had held his whistle for another second or two until after the horn to blow the tech so it was technically during intermission (the player's berating of the official began prior to the horn and continued after the horn) team B would have gotten the shots and the ball and maintained AP, but because he blew it prior to or simultaneous with the horn, team B does not get the full benefit provided by the penalty.
What's significant is when you deem the infraction had occurred, not when you blew the whistle. If it happened prior to the buzzer sounding to end the
quarter, it happened before the quarter ended, regardless of when you blow your whistle.
