In 99% of the situations I agree with you, but if I were a girl I don't think I'd want to be known as the Braves. And please, no one start with what the alternative to Braves is that's not what I'm getting at. I think in that case they have every right to want to go by a different nickname than the boys. But otherwise when the school mascot/nickname is gender nuetral I think you are correct in your logic.
